About us

We are a small workshop in Channapatna working in lathe-turned lacquerware, sheesham carving. Everything in our shop is made by hand, in small batches, by the people you read about here.

Made to order? Message us through support and we will tell you how long it takes.
Each piece is wrapped in recycled paper and packed by hand.
Small differences in colour and finish are the mark of handmade work.

The maker’s story

Channapatna has turned wood into toys since Tipu Sultan's time. We still colour every piece with vegetable dyes pressed into lac sticks, so a child can safely chew on it.
